Job Description
Position Overview:Eaton Corporation is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager for the North America region of the Global Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, and Oil & Gas organization. This person will report directly to the VP of Finance for Eaton’s North American (Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, and Oil & Gas) organization. This position will be based in our office in Syracuse, NY.
The role is responsible to lead the consolidation, reporting and analysis of monthly results, forecasts and plans. The role is also responsible for Orders and Sales controlling, SG&A controlling, Profitability Analytics, and Balance Sheet management. Additionally, this individual must provide insightful business analyses to senior management to support the development of objectives and action plans to achieve those objectives. The position requires a high level of detailed analysis in a complex organization, and the ability to be highly responsive and accurate. This person will interact with a wide range of people across the organization and requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, and to communicate with people in all functional areas of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Implement best practices as it relates to financial planning and analysis including processes, systems, tools and techniques
  • Analyze historic performance to understand root-cause of issues and support improvement efforts going-forward; proactively perform forward-looking analysis and identify areas of improvement for management attention
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on all finance-related matters and ensures compliance with reporting guidelines and standards
  • Lead and manage the strategic plan, annual profit plan and in-year forecasting
  • Partner with the Engineering organization on R&D performance vs. budget, NPI tracking, assistance with product road mapping and development and execution on key strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the commercial organization on product line reporting, development and execution on growth initiatives, establishment and administration of vertical market indicators, and perform competitor analysis
  • Partner with the HR organization on the development and execution of headcount activities, ensures proper alignment of headcount to the financials, and assists with the development and administration of bonus/commission plans
  • Responsible for building organizational capability and serving as a mentor and coach within the function
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, and determine priorities
  • Lead special projects on an ad-hoc basis

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of US GAAP, an understanding of international business, and a working knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Encore) are requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing organization and commercial organizations
Education:
  • An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred
