Job Opening for Quality Control Scientist III, Carmel, NY : Client: Lannett Company This is a 6+ month contract engagement with a potential transition to perm. The Quality Control Scientist III reports directly to the Manager, Quality Control and is responsible for performing routine and non-routine tests on active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, in-process and finished products using wet chemical, physical and instrument techniques. The Quality Control Scientist III works independently and assists in training new chemists. Assists with performing lab investigations in addition to acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on test procedures, SOPs, technical documents and other record types as required. Assist with special projects and other tasks as deemed necessary. Overview:
Routine and non-routine testing of samples.
Authoring and reviewing of SOPs and other technical documents
Method Verification, Validation and Development
Training of new chemists
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences or a related degree and 5 – 8 years of laboratory experience or a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences or a related degree and 4 – 6 years of laboratory experience preferably within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of cGMP and other regulatory requirements
Understanding of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing
Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills
Working knowledge of GMP, USP/NF and ICH testing guidelines
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
Excellent written skills
