Job Description
Our AECOM Honolulu office is currently seeking a Jr level Geologist to support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various DOD clients in Pacific. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment.
This position is expected to begin in November 2020.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Tasks will include:
+ Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
+ Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
+ Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
+ Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
+ Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
+ Degree in science or related field required.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree in Geology.
+ Must be a resident of Hawaii.
+ Required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work.
+ US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites.
+ Must successfully pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
+ Ability to successfully obtain DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree a plus.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and ArcGIS.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
