GRADE: H STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:
Office of Financial Empowerment, Boston Tax Help Coalition
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:The Boston Tax Help Coalition is seeking a Fundraising Administrator to provide grant writing, resource development, organizational development, and work on asset building programming. The ideal candidate will be a clear, capable writer, who wants to learn how to plan and manage programs, shares the mission of economic equality and social justice, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. This position reports to the Deputy Director, Office of Financial Empowerment, and is based at 7 Palmer Street, Boston.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writing
- Draft and review grant proposals, grant reports, concept papers, letters of intent, award acknowledgements, staff bios, and other fundraising documents in conjunction with Boston Tax Help Coalition Director
- Create, update, and compile all necessary attachments for proposals
- Create and improve donor communication resources such as the annual report, brochures, or additional materials
- Draft preliminary program budgets in collaboration with Senior Operations Manager
- Research potential foundation, government, corporate, and alternative funding sources
- Research current trends and data to strengthen funding requests
- Update Coalition data collection surveys, as appropriate
- Create fundraising plan and assist in strategy development
- Assist in programmatic and organizational development to inform proposal writing
- Work with Coalition staff to identify program priorities and develop metrics
- Assist with management of Ambassador programs
- Attend and prepare materials for meetings with foundation representatives
- Craft and implement a direct individual donor mail/social media campaign
- Organize and host fundraising events, as appropriate
Administrative
- Lead weekly Fundraising Meetings with Coalition Director and Senior Operations Manager
- Update and manage foundation submission planning spreadsheet, foundation submission tracking spreadsheet, and work plan. Track due dates to ensure that Coalition and relevant EDIC staff have ample time to meet deadlines.
- Evaluate systems and make recommendations on possible changes
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system for all fundraising related files
- Provide Coalition ledger administrator with evidence of receipt of grants
- Assist with supervising Fundraising Intern, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required however relevant work experience can be substituted
- Minimum of one year working in the development/fundraising field, or a combination of education and work experience to equal three years
- At least one year of program planning and/or implementation experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong persuasive writing skills
- Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines; attention to detail essential
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
