Title: Paralegal Description: LR Compliance Coordinator Prepares and drafts legal research documents, conducts internal document research, interviews Company personnel and drafts responses to discovery requests. Independently writes legal briefs and drafts legal documents. Must haves: Excellent writing and communication skills.
Acts independently and uses extensive legal knowledge obtained through experience to review and analyze legal documents. Reviews pending legislation and analyzes current laws. Independently communicates with external counsel or external contacts to obtain a specific outcome (i.e. negotiate a settlement). Interviews potential witnesses.
Directs the search and retrieval of information from electronic and other files, and analyzes collected information for relevancy in responding to discovery requests.
Provides direct guidance to lower level Paralegals; may provide direct supervision of subordinate employees and/or team. Duties: Researches, analyzes, compiles, and synthesizes information related to various statutes, regulations, and case law.
Prepares and drafts legal research documents.
Assists attorneys on legal brief writing and drafting of legal documents. Acts as the liaison between attorneys and other department or Business Unit personnel on legal issues. Reviews pending state and federal legislation and analyzes current laws relevant to the business. Identifies key issues and assists in drafting annual legislative priorities. Reviews, proofreads, revises documents to help ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Must have the ability to pull together information from multiple sources and investigations and formalize a final report that meets compliance and legal requirements.
Strong MS Word skills
Experience in writing or compiling reports for investigations
Post HS education
Experience in business policy auditing/administration or policy interpretation, handling of personal/private/confidential information.
